memories

hello!!! this is my very first time posting! hahaha anyway, today's the official last day of school so i thought i'd bring you guys back to what we all did together through this year (: ... remember, i sent out an email asking you all to tell me which was your most memorable experience in oac? well, i had a wonderful time reading all your replies and wanted to share it. hee hope you don't mind! =)

memorable experiences!
lizhen : bwm!pushups>
jillian: kite flyingbecause the whole activity was really fun and we get to bond!! :Dthe steamboat dinner was also memorabledawn: Night cycling! It was fun cycling at late night along the road, with the wind blowing on our faces and trying to keep awake! AHHH so fun! =D
meiyan: Hiezzz, Mmm... Malaysia overseas trip... got to cycle to the beach, eat seafood dinner, bond through playing and cycling =P Most importantly, it was fun and accomplishing... =)
waikit: i love the night hike. cause that was one of the very first time i got to engage with seniors. hahas.
cuilin: hmm...i'll have to think about it.. haha.due to my frequent absence from school, there were not too many OAC activities which i attended...which is quite unfortunate for me... BUT,i think that the most memorable activity would be the overseas cycling trip, although not everyone attended that... It was a first-time experience for me,cycling in those parts with those steep slopes which were really a test of ur physical condition! Moreover, the flooding of the hotel was totally memorable heh heh.though not memorable in a nice sense, but still unforgettable yea.haha. hmm i guess that's it ba.. the next most memorable would be the kite-flying trip, and the steamboat after that!haha. wells, i was not in a very gd mood that day, and the trip really made me happier =) n the steamboat worked magic!it really felt gd to be surrounded by friends...the whole thing jus brightened my day and i didn't regret joining u guys for the steamboat dinner =)
suyi: umm. most memorable? i think NDC tower building! not being biased or anything, but building a structure is really fulfilling, especially when u get to climb to the top and look down below!(:got to know a few ppl better too while tying!
benedict: haha ok. For me it was the solo night of BWM camp. cos i think it really put our skills to the test and was not a bad simulation of what it would be like if we were really lost alone in some strange place. maybe it could be extended to sth like survival? where we only meet for activities? thanks
shuning: hmm... most memorable experience? i think for me it isnight hike... never thought that i could walk for solong and so far!!! plus it was a good time bondingwith the other oacians. :) and it is afterall thefirst major event this year for oac. :)))
claire: my most memorable experience in oac was the the oac orientation camp at the start of the year. coz it made me realise how fun oac could be and i made many new and great friends.! The activities were way too cool...
kevin: The night walk during the backwoods camp was memorable. This was because seniors tried to scare us, only with me spoiling the atmosphere by telling lame jokes. Mwahahah
ben gan: My most memorable OAC experience would definitely have to be the intra school night hike in April. (i think it was april...) This is because it was one incident when i felt the camaraderie and excellent group dynamics that we the members of OAC have. We walked through the reservoir rainforest for a few hours and then went on an urban hike down to Bukit Panjang. Though many of us were extremely tired after that night, playing the various games at different stations and passing under the silence of the lush jungle which was stirred only by the insects and our laughter made it one of the most memorable experience i had from OAC.
charmaine: the camaderie. no particular experience
mervyn: the most memorable OAC experience for me this year was the BWM camp. That's because it was fun and one of the few times everyone really got together and go through thick and thin. That's why it was the first to come up in my mind when i read your email.
me!: let the pictures speak for themselves! =)
weekly oac dinners! haha more ppl must join kay!

wednesday activities!

and working together!

man... it's been one year already! next year will pass as fast i guess... well! let's make the most of it and make it even more memorable and wonderful!

Adult First Aid Course

Hi everyone, I'm doing this post because I was in the NJOAC0708 yahoo groups when I realized, we have a great number of 12 members in the group. I'm hoping that more people visit the OAC blog.

This is a direct copy from what I posted up on the groups:

Hi OAC,

I have tried hard and negotiated what I could, and this almost completely really really finalised:

Adult First Aid Course will be held for ALL OACians (with exceptions) from 14th to 16th November. The price will be $80 per person, and you can pay by Edusave, if not by cash. I have personally contacted almost all of you, and will be uploading the list of people who I am sending down for the course. This course will be held at St Johns HQ at Beach Road. Further information will be provided soon.

I will also upload the list of people who are excused from this course, namely those who already have the cert, and those who are unable to attend for other reasons. For the latter group of people (there's quite a number), I will organise another Adult First Aid Course, likely to be held next year January.

Just to make sure this is clear, I'll repeat this: First Aid Course is NO LONGER from 9th to 11th November, it is now from 14th to 16th November, Wednesday to Friday. There is no longer a Basic First Aid Course. Please do not get confused. As most of us are over the age of 16, we are to attend the Adult First Aid Course.

Thanks guys.

Alvyn Ng

Ok, now that this message has been posted on this blog AS WELL AS the yahoo groups, I hope at least 95% of this CCA will know about this update.

Thanks.

Mad Jacks

hello oac!
there is no formal wednesday activity this wednesday the 17th of October, but we'll be having dinner!
it'll be at mad jacks, near coro, which is near school so no one has to go exceedingly far to get home from dinner place =)

meet there at 5.30pm! see map below if you don't know how to get there -.-

directions:
take any bus that'd you'd take to coro, cross the bridge to coro, and walk towards serene centre. the mad jacks sign is pretty obvious, so if you walk past it and end up at serene it might be time to get new spectacles =)
its also next to the neighbourhood police post, so if anything you can ask the police how to get there =)

see you there on wednesday!

SPRINGCLEANING!

HELLO PEOPLE!(:

today springcleaning for OAC store, was a success! it's really super duper clean now, as compared to last time, and most importantly, there's a change in furnishing arrangement (can improve feng shui also, HAHA, i'm obssessed about that) such that our oac store seems so so so BIG NOW!!! it's really alot more spacious(: can fit alot more pple inside, we all don't have to squeeze in during wed meetings anymoreEeEeEeeee!!! HAHA!

well, so good job for those who came(: and for those who didn't, its okay, wait and see how nice our oac store is! (: its around 80% done, the remaining 10% involves some misc stuff to tidy up, and 10% involves add-ons into our store! like...

FLOWER SCENTED AIR FRESHENER!
nice nice area to be used for interaction and watching tv, maybe we can get some cute little blow up sofas HAHAHAHA. okay, maybe im thinking too much!

:D

hahaha, but in any way, HAVE A NICE DAY, PEOPLE!(:
and rmb... your date with ME on wednesday!!! AHEMS, HAHA, joking lah, with OAC on wednesday, seoul garden dinner! (:

to break the atmosphere a li'l, PW, PW, ALL THE WAY! (: you can do it!

OAC oldies

NIUM NIUM NIUM JUICY JUICY li'l bites for ya! (:
let's take the time machine back... to the land of far, far away... a long time ago...
*enters dreamy land*

NJ OAC '88!

DURING BWM CAMP, the exco! HAHA! cool, shows how much more hiong they were last time... and is it me, or there are only 3 girls in the exco? HMMMMM.

They named it smthg called... Omega, dunno why also hahahaha. On first look, it looked like OAC land. But after much scrutinization, i realized it is highly possible that it is actually the non-existent-grand-stand-and-school-track-area then.

oolala.

This one is more recent i guess... as compared to the ones above, HAHA! they are killing a snake! and whoaw, the guys were all so muscular, look at their BULGING LEGS!

*looks down at my own pathetic, accumulative layers of fats* we, or rather I, need to train up more. HAHA.

A structure they built last time! They called it hourglass structure. haha. super high!

Is it me or this position of the photographer will be different if another person go and take from the same position NOW?

ahhhhhh, so council has been asking us to do backstage for YEARS FOR COLLEGE DAY (is it?)! HAHAHAHA. this are the girls, obviously.

and the guys. traditions never change eh, the black people of the backstage.

HAHAHHAA! i found all these from the internet, and it's really interesting actually. why do people look different even though they had lived on exactly the same piece of land as us?

is it appropriate for me to then assume that fashion, environmental habits, shape looks, regardless of whether its 10+ years' difference in exactly the same school?

okay, sounds circular hahahahaha. but anyway, food for your eyes! :D

oh, talking about food. to ensure that i won't get rob and minimize terrorist attacks,

birthday cake! many many candles some more. free!!!

>:D

Kaiting!
